Evanston belongs to all of us, and we’re all responsible for its future.
Everyone in our community has an important contribution to make, and each voice has purpose and brings value. We all need to challenge ourselves to hear and value one another as we work together to to provide all Evanston youth with more equitable opportunities for success in adult life.
Our Community Engagement Team is reaching out to the community in a variety of ways.
Team members have attended citywide events such as National Night Out and the CommUNITY Picnic to here from community members about their experience of living in Evanston.
Additionally, team members have met with existing groups to learn more about what they see as the major challenges Evanston faces and to hear their thoughts on how to address them.
EC2C has also hosted community dinners to invite parents to guide us as we move forward with various initiatives. Parent Ambassadors are guiding both our Talk, Read, Sing Initiative and our Summer Learning Initiative.
EC2C is currently reaching out to high school students to explore how we can ensure that their voices are being consistently heard and that they are playing a critical role in guiding our efforts.
If you would like to be involved with EC2C, or simply want to tell us what you think, we'd love to hear from you! Get in touch with EC2C.
